What is the dimension of the plate portion that mounts to the wall? I have to cover up an old porcelain tile towel bar.A
The chrome plates are slightly smaller in size from the color plated mounts. The dimensions of the chrome plate are 2 3/8" x 1 1/2". Attached it a diagram from the manufacturer on the ways to install this mounting plate.

Can this be mounted on tile?A
This product can be mounted into studs into the wall and will come with the necessary mounting materials to do so via screws. Alternatively, this product can also be mounted onto tile with adhesive glue. However, this is not included with the product and can be found at local hardware stores.
