can this mirror be wired to a light switch?

This item can be hard-wired.

How is this mirror fog free? Does it have a heating device?

This mirror does contain a device that is the electrical component for the mirror itself. As the outside edges of the mirror illuminate and warm up, the interior part of the mirror will heat up slightly as well, causing the fog free ability to activate.

Can this mirror be installed horizontally or vertically?

Unfortunately, this item can only be installed as pictured with the 31.5" in length and 27.6" in height; this item cannot be rotated.
