What is the dimension of the mounting area?A
The length is 1 1/4", while the width is 1 1/8". The diameter of the mounting hole is 5/8".

This item is only recommended to be installed via the included materials on a stud. Mounting the item as described would be a custom install; this would be at the ability of the installer and would void the manufacturer warranty. Items that are intended for shower door installation can be found here.?

When mounted properly, this towel/grab bar combination can assist up to 330 lbs.
