this is a gorgeous product for a normal size paper roll but if you get the kirkland brand larger size, for example, the paper is a very tight fit until you use it a couple times and shorten the roll. Be aware of the depth of the product which in this case is only 2.44" and the arm doesn't move at all.

Using this as a hand towel ring, instead, and I might have to actually BUY a hand towel, as inviting as this looks.

Unfortunately, this toilet paper holder can only be installed as pictured as this is one solid piece; it is not available in the opposite direction.
