We updated our master bath recently and purchased the Gedy Aetna bath towel bars to match the hardware that we purchased for the drawers and cabinets of the bathroom vanity. The towel bars arrived and we were very pleased with how well they coordinated with the handles. The chrome towel bars are sleek and beautiful. Unfortunately, one of the hand towel bars had a very small defect in the chrome finish. If it had been on the underside of the towel rack, I would have ignored it. However, the blemish was on top and visible. I contacted thebathoutlet.com via email and provided a photo. Within 3-4 days I received a replacement towel bar. Unbelievable customer service! Thank you for resolving this issue so quickly and painlessly. We'll be sure to visit your website again when we start our guest bath renovation.

Is the towel bar chrome on brass, stainless steel or a thermoplastic with a metalized coating?

This item is made of chromall and finished in polished chrome. The manufacturer of this product, Gedy, solely created this type of material that feels and looks like brass, but is a little bit lighter and similar in some ways to both a metal and a thermoplastic resin. Ultimately it is closest to a stainless steel material.

Hi, is this strong enough to be used as a grab bar? If not, is there something similar that you would recommend?

This item is only intended to be used as a towel bar; it is not recommended to be used for anything other than its intended purpose and will not be able to support the weight of a grab bar.
