For cleaning purposes, this product was designed so that you may remove the polished chrome top from the base. However, the chrome base does not provide the ability to drain as the grooves are intended to hold the soap in place only.?

DIAMETER OF SOAP DISH...WICH PART IS RESINA
The diameter of the soap dish is 4.68". The bottom part of the dish is the thermosplastic resin, while the upper 4.5" in diameter dish is made of plastic.
