The towel bar is fine. HOWEVER, the rack requires three screws for proper mounting.Only two screws were included and they were too large for the screw holes!!! Hard to believe.

Is there a limit to how far these can swivel?

These bars have a full range of movement and would can swivel as far back as the mounting bracket or wall once installed.

Are you able to hang bath towels on this towel bar?

This towel bar can accommodate to either bath towels or hand towels.

I have used toggle bolts to try to anchor it to the wall so it does not tilt downward and hangs straight and it still hangs on an angle when I put only a hand towel

These are mounted via a mounting plate that is installed with two screws into proper wood backing and locked into place. Once secured, the mounting will be sturdy. Installing into anything other than proper wood backing is a custom install.
