Love the look and quality of this set! My hope suggestion would be for the towel bars to be long enough to hold a bath sheet. I am now using this for hand towels and putting bath towels on an over the door hanging rack.

If only 16?, Does this mean the bars on each side are only 7 or 8 inches so not big enough for bath towels?

Each towel bar will have a maximum hanging space of 14.6". Since the item can be adjusted from side to side, the towel bar can be minimized for smaller towels. This item is recommended for either hand towels or body towels.

How strong is adhesive vs. the screws? What is recommended?

All these products have the ability to use screws to mount them. However, the toilet paper holder and hook in this set also have the option to mouth with adhesive, while the towel rack can only be mounted with screws. It is always recommended to go directly into studs, as this type of mounting will be the strongest and securest for your products. On the other hand, adhesive also has the benefit to be mounted onto tile without creating a hole. The type of mounting pursued will be solely dependent on your application needs.
