I read a question with a response that said this hook needed to be mounted into studs on a wall. Does it have to be mounted into studs or can a molly be used. And what is the weight capacity?

This hook is rated to hold about 5 to 10 lbs and is only intended to support robes or towels. If mounted into studs correctly, it will help to allow more weight, but we do not guarantee anything beyond its initial intended use.

If you intend to install into a different source than studs, it would be considered a custom installation to which we recommend contacting you installer to discuss the aspects of the installation.

Can this be mortared into shower wall?

This product is intended to be mounted into studs into the wall and will come with the necessary mounting materials to do such. We do not recommend mounting the product in any other way, beyond its recommended installation. It is recommended to speak about a custom install with your contractor prior to understand the risks of installing this product in a different manner, as well as obtaining any custom hardware.
