How do I pick the best shower faucet for my bathroom?
Picking a
shower faucet set is definitely a personal choice and each shower set we offer serves a specific purpose. Before you buy online, you should have an idea about the type of shower you want and why you are upgrading your
shower faucet system. For example, some people prefer the relaxing feeling of rainfall water, and for them a shower system with a large rain shower head is most suitable. Others may prefer a massaging shower head or one with multiple functions. Some of our shower sets combine a rain shower head with a multi function hand shower to give you flexibility to enjoy your shower with different water spray settings. You should also consider whether you want a thermostatic or pressure balanced valve. Design plays an important part, too, and chrome or
black shower faucets and fixtures can add a touch of modern to your bathroom. Nickel, bronze, and brass fixtures are also popular for a more antique look.
What is the difference between a pressure balance and a thermostatic shower system?
A
thermostatic shower faucet gives you the ability to control and save the precise temperature settings of the water, for a perfect shower faucet every time. In this case, the water volume lever is separate from the temperature control valve. Because of their unique functionality, thermostatic valves are a luxury and are more expensive than the more affordable pressure balance systems, which usually include only one handle to control both volume and temperature.
Complete shower system and trim kits
Putting it all together, you should first pick the type and size of your shower head and the type of valve (thermostatic vs pressure balanced). If your shower combo set is to be installed in the tub, you might need a tub faucet as well, which would mean you need a 3-way valve to route the water to the outlets. In this case the trim kit will include a shower head, tub faucet, and a valve. A bracket or sliding rail mount handheld spray is optional but can add a lot of value to your shower. When you are ready to replace your shower, or even repair certain parts of it, it is always beneficial to hire a local professional or plumber to help you install it.
